About us

Fen Acre Dogs Training is operated and run by Ruth Moor who has a background in teaching and education combined with a passion and love for dogs.

She has owned dogs for over 14 years and currently has 4 of her own. Her passion for dog training started with her first dog 'Rolo' a cheeky Chocolate Lab, who as a puppy, introduced her into the world of Labrador house destruction and chaos! She decided pretty early on that they both needed to do a little bit of training! Her first 6 week puppy course ignited a passion that grew and grew. Puppy training led to further training, this led to agility and then to the sport of Flyball.

As the years went by the numbers of dogs increased slightly and so did her commitment to them. Within the flyball world Ruth competed with her dogs for over 10 years at local competitions, the British Flyball Championships and abroad. Ruth and her collie Ozzie raced with Cambridgeshire Canines Flyball Club in Belgium where their team won their division. Later, Ruth and a close friend started up their own flyball club called 'Whack Attack'. Whack Attack went on to win many division's at the first UKFL (UK Flyball League) Championships.

As well as flyball Ruth has always had a keen interest in fun agility and more recently, in the up and coming sport of Hoopers. Ruth has also taken part in basic sheep herding sessions with one of her rescue dogs Preston.

In 2018 Ruth was introduced to the training delivered by the IMDT and was hooked. She went on to complete many of their courses including level 3 in Canine Learning theory and motivation, finally achieving IMDT accreditation in late 2021.

Ruth is committed to keeping herself up to date with modern dog training methods that are reward based. As an member of the IMDT she is also committed to their Code of Ethics which include -
